Transforming Grace

Jerry Bridges was a well-known Christian writer and speaker.  His numerous books have sold over 3.5 million copies.  He served on the staff of The Navigators for more than sixty years before his death in 2016.  Jerry leaves behind his wife, Jane; two children; and seven grandchildren.
Living Confidently In God's Unfailing Love
Grace is amazing because it is God's provision for when we fall short of His standards.  Unfortunately, too many of us embrace grace for our salvation but then leave it behind in our everyday lives.  We base our relationship with God on our performance rather than on His love for us, even when we intuitively know that our performance cannot earn us the love we so desperately crave.
Isn't it time to stop trying to measure up and begin accepting the transforming power of God's grace?  The product of more than ten years of Bible Study, Navigator author Jerry Bridges's Transforming Grace is a fountainhead of inspiration and renewal that will show you just how inexhaustible and generous God's grace really is.

My Thoughts:
I have read many of Jerry Bridges's books and have been both blessed and challenged by each one.  Transforming Grace is one of his classics that has a prominent place on my "keeper shelf".  You don't read one of his books and simply place it back on the shelf to collect dust.  Bridges's books are revisited many times.
This edition of Transforming Grace has been redesigned and now includes a discussion guide perfect for use with small groups, discipleship, or simply for personal study.  Jerry's writing is warm and encouraging but in no way shortchanges the powerful transformation the gospel of Jesus brings to a life surrendered to him.  In Transforming Grace particularly, Bridges's does not teach a license to do what you want but how to lean into the love of a good, good Father who lavishes His children with grace and how our grateful response is faith and obedience.  Bridges insightfully explains to readers how important that we not limit God's grace to a one-time salvation event but how as believers we preach the gospel of grace to ourselves daily.

*I received a complimentary copy of the book.  All opinions expressed here are my own.

Blessings,
Jennifer
